I am an early career researcher in the field of complex systems simulation. My background is in Bioinformatics / Computational Biology, for which I received a Diplom degree (equal to MSc) from the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena (Germany) in 2012. During my degree I’ve spent some time at the University of Queensland in Brisbane (Australia) for a study abroad semester. I conducted my thesis under the supervision of Dr. Peter Dittrich at the Bio Systems Analysis Group in Jena. This September I have moved to Southampton (UK) to commence my PhD at the Institute for Complex Systems Simulation.
In my free time I enjoy various kinds of sports like horse riding, hiking, all kinds of watersports and snowboarding. I also enjoy travelling very much, with Australia and New Zealand being my favourite destinations so far. Take a look at my photography blog to get some impresssions.
